There are times in your life when you know that you are witnessing history. The evening of November 4, 2008 was one such moment for me—as I sat at home with my family watching Barack Obama be declared the 44th President of the United States . I saw what I never thought would be in my lifetime: an African-American U.S. President. The next day I met with my leadership team to review our diversity strategy progress and plans. Afterwards, one leader pulled me aside and asked, “Now that we have [President Obama], aren’t we done with [diversity] yet?”
